End of 2014 Fundraising Effort

End of 2014 Fundraising Effort

We are seeking End of 2014 donations to help fund our Project Impact Scholar and BeautyBrainsBelief™ Mentoring Programs as well as annual BeautyBrainsBelief™ Mentoring Conference.

Our CEO and Founder, Parthenia Warford has funded 98% of all activities since being founded in 2009 using her limited permanent disability income. She has often done without herself including almost losing her home to ensure single mother families were taken care of.  Parthenia suffers from severe rheumatoid arthritis, degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, chronic pain, anemia, and major depression to name a few chronic diseases; yet she always puts single mother families in her forefront ensuring they needs are met above her own.

We have two amazing programs: Project Impact Scholars and BeautyBrainsBelief™ Mentoring Program that have a critical need of funding so we can provide eligible single mothers enrolled in nursing program $250 semester for textbooks and provide Free mentoring services to single mother families; as well as our annual BeautyBrainsBelief™ Mentoring Conference.

Parthenia Warford is the point of contact fundraising for The Warford Foundation, Inc., parthenia@thewarfordfoundation.org

Why Can't Women Get Along? Oh Wait, They Can! Sisterhood With Anana Leeke, Annie Fox & Parthenia Warford

(Original article & Podcast was 12/2013)

Another excellent episode where we dispel the myth that women can’t get along. Why? Because, while women may have their issues with one another, they actually do get along quite well.

Joining the Team this week, Ananda Leeke of DigitalSisterhood, Annie Fox, and Parthenia Warford of The Warford Foundation, Inc discuss their work with girls and women. Bottom line, women are collectively a force to be reckoned with and they do get along!!

Listen to the show and find out.

Open Letter from Parthenia, CEO/Founder

Today is 9/11 for those that have not heard my story, I thank God for allowing me to be here today living my purpose through The Warford Foundation, Inc.

September 11, 2001, I was on active duty in the Army stationed at the Pentagon however, this particular morning I was next door at Fort Myers getting my retirement physical. I remember being very upset because the lab tech was late which meant I was going to miss a meeting. Little did I know that the lab tech really saved my life, you see the meeting was right where the plane hit the Pentagon killing my mentor and several other high ranking military soldiers.

So on this day 9/11 I sit quietly thanking God for allowing me to still be here. I use to question why I was saved, but now I know it is to continue living my purpose.

Warm regards,

Parthenia Warford

Father's Day Salute - Jemahl Warford

Today is Father's Day, Sunday, June 15, 2014 and I would like to highlight my baby brother Jemahl Warford as Father of the Year! You see I am an only girl of 5 brothers who has watched all her brothers grow up and 4 out of 5 become fathers.  Also to note is I raised my 2 now adult daughters as a singlemom, all but 3 years of their lives when I was married.

Therefore, I am writing this from the perspective of a singlemom who daughters didn't have their Father present in their lives. I watched my baby brother Jemahl enlist in the Army like me, get married have 2 daughters then watch his marriage dissolve into divorce.

Although, the divorce was hard on my brother; I saw him buckle down and do whatever was needed to remain an active parent in lives of his daughters.  Something that a lot of men would not have done,  especially because the divorce was less than friendly.  Jemahl was broken but he refused to become a statistic -- deadbeat Dad would never ever be the title he earned.

He moved into an apartment complex where he could do odd maintenance jobs in exchange for an efficiency apartment,  and low rent so that he could have a place to live. She kept the house along with custody of girls, then eventually getting remarried and starting over.

Jemahl didn't just walk away and allow the new husband to raise his daughters NO he remained more involved than ever; working and sacrificing to buy them the best of everything.  At every sporting event, school meeting, you name it he was there doing it and more.

Parenting means dealing with the good and bad -- you see women when you have a Father that is doing his part you are obligated to support his decisions of tough love. You cause confusion and discontent between your children and Father when you are not on the same sheet of music.  Never allow your children to play you against each other and manipulate you into pushing Father away because he's frustrated and refuses to deal with constant undermining.

The result could be -- a great Father like my baby brother Jemahl gets his spirit broken and decide to walk away leaving you to deal with the mess you created alone. There are plenty of great Father's but they should and MUST be supported otherwise you know how the story ends......

Famous African American Women -- Marian Anderson (1902-1993)

Famous African American Women -- Marian Anderson (1902-1993)

An African American singer, Marian Anderson found more success and fame in Europe than America until in 1939 the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) refused to allow her to sing in their Constitution Hall in Washington, DC. In part because of the public attention brought by this incident, Marian Anderson became one of the best-known African American women of the 20th century.

I FORGIVE ME

I FORGIVE ME

Precious Lord of the Universe:

Today, I accept, believe and stand in the awareness that every thought and emotion I hold, every judgment, every identity, every concept, every recognition, every awareness upon which I focus my attention, is a gift I give to myself.

Every gift I offer, every judgment I make, every identity I create, every concept I construct, every recognition I establish, whether positive or not, goes forth into my life and returns to me not void, but as the image, experience, feeling, and expression

Today, I accept, believe and stand in the awareness that I am the source of the thoughts I think because my mind is one with Divine mind. My capacity to think, whether positive or not, is the gift I have received from life and creates the gifts I offer in my life. Today I recognize this awareness as the operation of the Law of Mind, the process of Case and Effect.

Today, I forgive myself for the gifts I have offered to myself, to others and to the world that were not in alignment with the Law of Love.

When I think with a Mind of Love, every thought I hold goes forth and will return to me as more love.

Today, I forgive myself for the ways and number of times I have resisted being in alignment and harmony with the Law of Love.

When I think with the ego mind, every thought I hold about myself or anyone else returns to me as an image or experience of pain, wounding, hurt, sorrow, suffering or attack.

Today, I forgive myself for allowing, encouraging and giving silent, unconscious permission to the ego mind to create and contribute to the presence of pain, wounding, hurt, sorrow, suffering, lack and attack in my life.

I am now aware that every thought I allow myself to think about myself and everyone else; every judgment I make about myself and everyone else; every identity I create of myself and everyone else; every concept I construct about myself and everyone else; every recognition I make about myself and everyone else, whether positive or not, is a divine creation.

Today, I forgive myself for every thought I have held, every emotion I have nurtured, every judgment I have made, every identify I have created, every concept I have constructed, every recognition I have established that was not grounded in love.

And So It Is! Amen!

Rev. Dr. Iyanla Vanzant
