Food Drive for Bread for the City

NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION THE WARFORD FOUNDATION HOSTED BREAD FOR THE CITY FOOD DRIVE

Founder Parthenia Richardson united with fellow non-profit organization to give back to community for the upcoming holidays

As the winter season quickly approaches, many families will experience financial pressure that will result from purchasing large quantities of food, gifts, and other holiday expenses. However, other underprivileged or poverty-stricken individuals will endure tougher circumstances by lacking the luxury of a customary holiday meal. In turn, The Warford Foundation hosted a food drive to benefit fellow non-profit organization Bread for the City and ultimately provide food and monetary donations to the homeless during the Thanksgiving holiday. The Bread for the City Food Drive took place from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on November 14 & 21 at Tabaq Bistro located at 1336 U Street, NW in Washington, D.C., 20009.

Founder of The Warford Foundation, Parthenia Richardson, currently assists single mothers and military widows to help them gain access to higher education. Her passion for giving back to individuals motivated her to unite with this worthwhile cause and provide reinforcement to the less fortunate during a meaningful holiday. Bread for the City will utilize the monetary donations and food received to contribute to the homeless and some of our veterans. The organization currently provides food, clothing, medical care, and legal and social services to underprivileged residents of Washington, D.C.

This event was free of charge for all participants. Canned goods and monetary donations will be accepted in support of the Bread for the City Food Drive. Music was provided my DJ Quick Silva, 93.9FM and DJ Fillup Banks.

The Warford Foundation would like to extend its sincere invitation to the community and members of the media to participate, donate and influence change. This compelling opportunity is certain to spark a positive transformation in the lives of those in need as well as the generous supporters.
